Work at KL&S

Online LINC Instructor:

Do you have a passion for supporting others to achieve their goals in education, employment, and independence? 

We are currently seeking a part-time, contract instructor for the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program. This opportunity is to deliver the LINC program to 100% online learners. Classes are synchronous, using Zoom and other digital tools. There are no in-person meetings with learners. Instruction and assessments align with the PBLA (project-based learning assessment) framework required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Administrative Assistant:

Kingston Literacy & Skills (KL&S) is a non-profit community organization. With professional, knowledgeable staff and dedicated volunteers, we deliver English language classes, Essential Skills training, and a variety of free workshops and programs that help adults in Kingston reach their employment, settlement, education, and independence goals.

Do you have a passion for education and for supporting others to achieve their goals? Do you have entry-level office administration and customer service experience, and want to build your career skills? If you want to work with a great team that strives to empower lives through learning, then consider a position with KL&S.

Volunteer at KL&S:

Literacy and Language Volunteers:

Work one-to-one with learners to support their progress in literacy, math, and English language. Literacy and Language Volunteers provide weekly tutoring for learners who need a little bit of extra help outside of our regular classes. No teaching experience required; training is provided. We accept Literacy and Language Volunteer applications year round. Contact us today to be connected to our Volunteer Coordinator.

Project and Engagement Volunteers:

KL&S provides hands-on instruction and a variety of engagement opportunities for our learners. We welcome volunteer guest speakers, special events volunteers, and community experts to support learner projects. Have a special skill to share that would help support literacy and language development? Want to be a guest speaker to help our learners feel more connected to our community? Board of Directors

KL&S is a registered charity and nonprofit agency. We are governed by a Board of Directors. Board Directors are elected for 2-year term and ratified at our Annual General Meeting each September.
