ECE Assistant:
The CNC ECE Assistant supports RECE staff in ensuring that quality care and safety are provided to children participating in the CNC program. Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest time. Reporting to the CNC Coordinator, ECE Assistants support the Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) program. The CNC ECE Assistant will provide quality child care to children of diverse backgrounds while their parents receive language and settlement services for either short- or long-term.
Volunteer at KL&S:
Literacy and Language Volunteers:
Work one-to-one with learners to support their progress in literacy, math, and English language. Literacy and Language Volunteers provide weekly tutoring for learners who need a little bit of extra help outside of our regular classes. No teaching experience required; training is provided. We accept Literacy and Language Volunteer applications year round. Contact us today to be connected to our Volunteer Coordinator.
Project and Engagement Volunteers:
KL&S provides hands-on instruction and a variety of engagement opportunities for our learners. We welcome volunteer guest speakers, special events volunteers, and community experts to support learner projects. Board of Directors
KL&S is a registered charity and nonprofit agency. We are governed by a Board of Directors. Board Directors are elected for 2-year term and ratified at our Annual General Meeting each September.
